2026-2027 PPOTA Executive Board
President: Alaina Barringer
Hi! I'm Alaina Barringer, and I am the president of PPOTA. I am a senior Kinesiology major and plan to become a physical therapist. Outside of PPOTA, I am a research assistant for PLAY'd research lab, a member in Phi Epsilon Kappa (PEK), intensive exercise assistant at Cerebral Body LLC, and a member of the MSU Honors College. I also attended the Summers Sports Down Under study abroad in Summer of 2025. For fun, I like to spend time with friends and family, go to concerts and sporting events, lake days, shopping, traveling, and make coffee!
Vice President: Isabella Steffgen
My name is Isabella Steffgen. I am the Vice-President of PPOTA for the 2026-2027 school year. I am studying Kinesiology to go to Occupational Therapy school. I am involved in PPOTA, Best Buddies, ‘Princess Polly’ and ‘Olive and June’ ambassador, Team Lead at the Spartan Bookstore, and a teacher at TPDC (Ignite Dance Company). For fun I like to go to the gym, dance, go to games, explore new things, try new restaurants, do crafts, go to concerts, travel, and hang out with friends, family and my dog.

My name is Layna and I am a senior Kinesiology major! I plan to become an Occupational Therapist. Outside of PPOTA. I am a member of a pre-health fraternity here at MSU called Phi Epsilon Kappa, as well as a research assistant in the Sensorimotor Development Lab, and a Rehab technician at Doctors of Physical therapy. I also spent my summer working as a Behavioral Tech back home in Grand Rapids! Outside of school, I love to spend time with my roommates, get ice cream, go to concerts, go on walks and tailgate!!
Volunteer Chair: Logann Clayton
Hi! I’m Logann Clayton! I am a senior Kinesiology major and the Volunteer Chair for PPOTA, with plans to become an Occupational Therapist! I’m also involved in CHAARG and Spartans 4 Kids. Outside of school, I enjoy going on walks, spending time on the boat, and trying new workout classes, cycling is my favorite! I also work at a restaurant and spent my summer working at a senior living facility!

My name is Kayla Goldsberry and I am a kinesiology major, pre-pt. I am involved in Orchesis Dance Company, I also am a ULA for PSL 250, and I work as physical therapy technician as well. In my spare time I enjoy working out, going for walks, going to MSU football games, and spending time with my friends.

My name is Sophie Erickson and I’m a Kinesiology major on the pre-PT track! I’m currently one of the membership chairs, but I’m also involved in painting club, journaling club, sports medicine club, msu chaarg, KGD, and I work at the Breslin. For fun I like to workout with my friends, journal, get coffee, scroll, go shopping, and play hayday on my ipad!

PT Chair: James Schafer
Hi! My name is James Schafer, and I am the PT Chair of PPOTA. I am studying kinesiology and plan to pursue a career in physical therapy. I am also a Prevention, Outreach, and Education Peer Educator and I volunteer with the Adaptive Sports and Recreation Club. Outside of my involvement on campus, I enjoy spending time in nature and running.
